Guest Speaker Summary
Susan introduced our guest speaker Meg.
Meg is Manager, Policy and Research as well as Assistant Corporate Secretary for the Vancouver Airport Authority.
She is presently seconded to the Master Plan Team where she co-authored the 2014 Strategic Plan.
Prior to joining the Vancouver Airport Authority in 1995, Meg served in the foreign service.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Masters degree in International Relations.
The management team at Vancouver Airport Authority is some 400.  Total employment is approximately 23,000 overall.
The airport handles some 23 million passengers a year.  Every flight is said to support 200 jobs in the city.
The Airport Authority is a not for profit, earning income from rent, sales and fees.
There is a new terminal in the works in the long-term master plan.
The Airport Authority has created a new company to handle cargo.
Six years in a row the best airport in North America.
92% customer satisfaction.
BC top employer 10 years in a row.
We are very proud of our most excellent airport.

Brian sold his business and is now enjoying his life curling.
Heather is off to Palm Springs for two weeks having worked for two weeks in a row.
Chris M really is off to Paris now.
Rumour is Dalbir missed the meeting because he was having an MRI on his shoulder having suffered a mishap cleaning his gutters.
Laine was having her wisdom teeth attended to.
Sandra will be attending Rotary International in Korea in May.
Melinda just returned from the Mayan Riviera with 16 friends.  She was wooed by an iguana and his harem.
Carolyn is off to London, Copenhagen and Barcelona fleeing the asbestos found in her home.
Dick’s daughter Kelly received Enterprising Woman of the Year award.
Arnoldo celebrated his fifth anniversary as a Canadian citizen.

Committee Updates
Laine through her avatar Melinda gave a lengthy plea for club members to get a wiggle on to obtain prizes and to sell tables.  The time is nigh.  About one month left until the deadline for prize submission.
April 25 at 6 PM at Margaret’s for basket making.
