Guest Speaker Summary
Lisa Cowell spoke to us about Richmond Society for Community Living (RSCL). She was introduced by Susan.
RSCL is a non-profit funded mainly by government. It provides service to 1100 clients with developmental disabilities and their families.
Lisa reminded us to include people with disabilities. They are looking for employers. It is just good business to provide employment for these reliable prospects.
Lisa told us of three upcoming events. There is a fundraiser on November 10, 2015. “Dinner, entertainment and a chance to bid on an array of spectacular auction items”.
There is also a craft fair on November 14 at South Arm United Church.
October is community living month across Canada. There is an art exhibit from October 7 through November 12 at Richmond City Hall Galleria.
RSCL also partners with Richmond Sakai’s and Boston pizza.
RSCL is looking for $30,000 to fund a new Snoozlin therapy room used primarily for autistic children.
Thanks to RSCL for their valuable contribution to our community.
Lisa was thanked by Chris Marin.

SERGEANT AT ARMS
Judy was Sgt. at Arms.
Debbie S told us of her successful family bartering over the weekend. Fish turned into a large pumpkin which was exchanged for a blackberry pie in a three-way exchange that was beneficial for all in good Rotary fashion.
John was looking for a large screen TV to view his recent camerawork.
Ladies the fishing trip is back on. Details soon to follow.
Clearly Judy and Pres. Chris had too much fun in Hawaii. The fact that they returned with no tan lines may be due to the quantity of Mai Tais consumed. Judy and Chris enjoyed a visit with Laine’s Brian’s mother who is a member of the Lahaina club in Hawaii and brought us a banner.
President Chris had the pleasure of enjoying Thanksgiving with the Mayor and his family.
