The four Rotary Clubs of Richmond (Richmond Sunrise, Steveston Rotary, Richmond Sunset and Richmond) recently collaborated to present Paul Harris Awards to 8 individuals who have made significant contributions to the Richmond Community.  The recipients were Miles Timmis, Chuck Keeling, Alan Sakai, Jim Kojima, Linda Reid, Jeff Jiang, Maggie Ip and Clara Chow.  They truly exemplify the Rotary Motto “Service Above Self.”
The purpose of the event was not only to honour these outstanding contributors, but also to provide the opportunity for the four Richmond Clubs to come together in a committee, to combine their talents and energies and to grow to know each other better.  Under the guidance of committee chairpersons Pat Atkinson and Debbie Murphy from Richmond Sunrise, the four clubs organized a successful and inspirational evening, attended by over 100 guests, at the Quilchena Golf and Country Club.
Special guests included District Governor Lorne Calder; Incoming District Governor John Berry;  District Governor Elect Drew Antrobus;  Judith Smith; Assistant District Governor Dean Hsieh; Mayor Malcolm Brodie; Christine Brodie and Karen Salazar.
PDG Gordon Dalglish was the M.C. and delighted us with his welcoming wit and guests were treated to a continuous slideshow showing action photos from each of the clubs.  DG Lorne Calder and Mayor Brodie both delivered inspirational presentations, reminding us of the importance of the work we do.
Our deepest thanks to the organizing committee and to the sponsors.
Our sincere congratulations to the 8 Paul Harris Award recipients.
