Richmond Sunrise Rotary was proud to walk on the Coldest Night of the Year, raising funds for CHIMO.
The Coldest Night of the Year was a winterrific family-friendly walk to raise money for Richmond charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. We teamed up, walked, and raised funds!
Chimo is a friendly way of greeting someone in Inuktitut. The word ‘Chimo’ is believed to mean a special friend for people in need of someone to talk to. It is said that when the Inuit people would greet each other with the word ‘Chimo’ they would simultaneously circle their hearts with their left hands.
Close to $25 000 has been raised so far.
