I was at Steveston Park with Oscar. We went to the Kitsilano Showboat and saw a reggae band. Then we headed to the Play Palace—Oscar loved it. (Did not say what he thought of the reggae band. He is past the gaga googoo stage.)
Amanda
I’m on Zoom today. I’ve been in Rotary for 8 years and still having fun. I am working more than usual. I'm heading to Kelowna with my dad and sister to watch my brother participate in the Across the Lake Swim and a triathlon.

I’m planning to switch tables each Thursday. I signed up for the social committee and have some great ideas. Recently, I got 15 yards of topsoil and had 12 people help truck 40,000 pounds of soil all over the garden—we celebrated with pizza and beer. (Members to be invited for the post soiling pizza and beer - who's in??)
Brian
I just got back from 10 days at Cultus Lake with Adam—and a BB gun! We went through 1,000 BBs, played golf, and paddle boarded. Sandra has the old BB gun now since it was not to be in the house.(Brian is still in the house but a different part.)
Dalbir
I went back to the Okanagan with my grandson so he could visit with his siblings.
Garth
Some time ago I was painting up three stories high when I got stung by a wasp. (did not say if the wasp or he fell to the bottom of the ladder but Garth was here to tell his story.) I saw the play "Waitress" that was racy and offensive—not a great combo!(this could also been about his first date - could not tell from my notes.)
Debbie S.
I spent time with university friends for our annual barn raising—there was painting, gardening, and tons of fun. Honestly, I’m not even sure what I’ve been doing lately! Also went to a Lapu Lapu benefit concert.
John
I just returned from the Calgary Stampede and the Okanagan. And I’m heading back to the Okanagan again next week.
Sandra
My renovations are ongoing—there’s dust everywhere, and it’s irritating my eyes. I can’t find anything in the house right now. (its the renovation conspiracy.)
Melinda
I went to see The Mousetrap and had dinner out with company visiting from the States, including a friend I haven’t seen since Grade 2! I’ve been thinking about putting in a covered patio, but the cost has me rethinking it. John's happy with an umbrella. (Is that Rhianna?)
Susan
It’s really encouraging to see people signing up for committees. On a sad note, a dear friend of mine passed away last night—it’s a reminder to make every day count.
Michael
My daughter drives a Chevy Spark. I knew there was a radar trap ahead but forgot to warn her—she ended up getting clocked at 85. She panicked, drove right past me, got chased down, and talked her way out of three tickets—only got the speeding ticket in the end! (clearly on her way to a great law career.)
Peachey
My mom had eye surgery last night. She calls me regularly, and I’ve been working on arranging her home care.
Larry
It takes me a while to get going these days, but I had a great time in Birch Bay for the Fourth of July and really enjoyed the fireworks. Steve’s going to watch NASCAR. Once I waved at a policeman who was trying to wave me off the road—whoops! He was not really waving hello. I also will be moving to different tables Thursday mornings.
Sam
I skipped Black Friday and went paddleboarding—7 kilometers back and forth. Then on Saturday, I took part in a culinary experience.
Blair
I was in Saskatchewan last week, driving from Saskatoon to Regina. My rental car had a flat tire, so Kal Tire sent me to an auto store, but I ended up in a small-town garage. The guy pulled a spike out of the tire and fixed it for $44 after an hour of work. So I tipped him $20 for beer!
Peter
Our granddaughter's soccer team had been banned for stacking the team, and took it to court. The judge told the association they were being petty, and the team was back in and won the BC champions for their age group!
Judy
(This weeks Sprite winner) I went on a friends boat after flying to Salt Spring. We’re heading to Birch Bay on Monday, then on to Penticton with Spencer for four days.(make sure your squirt gun is loaded this year) Jax laughed the whole time! (At riding lessons?)Riding lessons are wrapping up soon.
Debbie M.
Miles business has expanded all the way to Kelowna and Vernon. We’ve been paddling out of Concord Pacific starting in the D category, and ended up in the highest recreational division—and won silver! My main goal was not to fall into the cesspool—and I didn’t!
Kal
There will be room at my table next week! (Ole is not coming - SCHYTZ)
Bill
Every week, I kept getting pictures of my car in the mail—it took me a while to realize they were tickets! Our condo had a flood on the sixth floor, and now people have to move out for six months. Fortunately, we are above that floor and the elevator is now easily accessible. (his toilet is now fixed - no not the cesspool Debbie was referring to.) I’ve been listening to the “How Did This Get Made?” podcast—they go over the worst movies ever made. Shelly is now better than she’s ever been since her foot surgery—zero pain now. Oh and I won MVP in hockey last week!
Debbie T.
I went to see Jurassic Park and really enjoyed it—even though I kept jumping! I went paddling and saw what I thought was a snake, but it turned out to be a bullwhip—I still jumped. Our carpets are being done, and it’s been driving the dog nuts.
