I watched the staff at Tim Hortons on Bridgeport put together 30 breakfast wraps in about 10 minutes. They are hard workers because they were also servicing the drive through at the same time. Grandson Harvey decided to see what would happen if he pushed on the bottom of the milk container while I was pouring. Needless to say, milk on the table and actually I didn’t use Melinda’s potty mouth word, (although it may become one) I yelled “HARVEY.”
Garth had nothing to say but he was dressed for golf and was carrying his niblick or his baffing-spoon. (GTS if you don’t know what they are.) Do not let him fool you into thinking it was a cane.
Joyce is happy because her son is in town. (She didn’t say but I bet that includes grandchildren.)

Marg invited someone to make sure everyone got along – I didn’t catch why, where, or when but she survived to join us this morning. So everyone must have gotten along. She was also at a fund raiser with David Eby.
Bill reminded us of his first contact with Givery and how Dick and others used to write the paper bid sheets. He makes the initial bid on every thing so that is why we see his name and he used to have to go to each item when we had bid sheets. He had his first game of summer hockey and found it weird in arriving in a t-shirt and shorts and then going onto the ice.
Sam showed up because he thought I was doing a rap not bringing breakfast wraps. Sorry to disappoint – next time. Sam went to Dr. Peter House which was very cool and interesting. Learned they treat complex cases and not just the LGBTQ+ community.
Kal sadly had a good friend pass away from brain cancer and off to the funeral Thursday. Thanks to Kal and Lavina for the lunch on Thursday.
Sandra said Riley and Megan are moving into their condo now that the plumbing is complete.
Peter had nothing just like Garth. But he was not dressed for golf. Peter that is.
Judy’s grandson Jack had scarlet fever and is okay but is now allergic to penicillin. Judy has enjoyed being able to plant flowers on her deck.
Debbie S had a house guest for three weeks who has now left. She realizes that 3 weeks is a long time for a house guest. He would get up at 5 AM with John and he does not watch TV or read books so nothing to do but to talk to him. But really it was a good visit. They went whale watching and saw a mother Orca teaching a calf how to hunt a seal. Peachy won the Debbie raffle for the Pathways ticket that Debbie could not use. (I have never seen one move so fast in a walking cast, Peachy that is.)
Bobby had a really fun time at the District Conference and he connected with new people.
Bob went to Grand Pacific and ordered some Blanton’s Gold Edition bourbon in the lobby. The bartender put the bottle in front of him so he could look at it while he sipped the bourbon. Thought about sneaking some more but he has been going to the Gurdwara once a week.
Brian booked a week at Spirit Ridge after his divorce and also travelled to Christina Lake where he had a really nice morning. He does not recommend divorce but does recommend Garth if you are going to get divorced. His car died on the freeway, so he had to overnight in Chilliwack. Apparently, renovations in the house start on Monday. So he has moved back in with his parents and is driving dads car. (talk about a boomerang generation). He will need to follow the dating policy.
Chris B. is working with summer in the EA program as 30 students signed up for the program.
Jeanette enjoyed the district conference. Otherwise, nothing to say and she was not dressed for golfing either.
Danny was so surprised to receive the Don Evans award. After the conference he went to see flight over Canada which is now a flight over the Grand Canyon. He watched the Pope Exorcist (a movie?). He did a successful exorcism for his best friend. The club is crowd funding for an exorcism for Kal.
Michael busy getting the ballroom ready for the Rotary Gala. He has also been taking his children to the playground and has been gardening this week.
Peachy had fun at the district conference. She has only one crutch now and is walking one hundred feet with her boot.
Elena also had a good time at the conference and installed RWHN booth. She also enjoyed the Gilmore breakfast for 125 children.
Amanda will be happy to get her living room cleared of baskets. She has been trying to get into a popular Mexican restaurant for Graham’s birthday but had booked it for May 5th , which is his birthday. Fortunately she was able to get reservations for Sunday instead.
Christine P. has been working a second job for 7 years and is now stopping so she will be here every Thursday from now on. 🥳 Mitchell has passed his commercial licence and now can fly commercially. He received 80% on his final written test after driving instead of flying out to Chilliwack to write it because of the PSAC strike.
Maddie says hi. Her boss had a heart attack but he will be back in June so she can take some time off. She has donated a gift certificate but I did not catch the name of the restaurant. Thankyou Maddie.
Birthday girl Pat was justifiably proud of Danny and Elena at the district conference. Max was well behaved although admitted he was bored. Nothing like a bored teenager. She has a conflict in her schedule tomorrow so will be late to the Gala. She apparently attended a men’s club in Abbotsford and got some text about her phone roaming in the US. (Sounds to me like more than her phone was roaming.)
Carolyn went to KPU foundation gala and won the 50/50 of $1,800 which she will invest in her granddaughter’s scholarship at KPU. She filled us in on how ChatGPT is being used by students who will claim they wrote the paper themselves.
Gordon remembers the distant past before email and his advice is “if in doubt delete” if urgent they will get back to you. Congratulation to Danny. He was pleased with the largest turnout in years for the club at the district conference.
Susan was wearing a district conference T-shirt to prove she was there along with the excitement of our first year members Jeanette and Peachy attending who were also wearing their conference T Shirts.
Larry is leaving next week to go to Palm Springs with all his sisters and celebrate his mom’s life. He is then off to Vegas with Steve. And because he is not travelling enough, off to Steve’s mom 80th birthday with his whole family. The family has bought her a sky dive. At 80. Apparently she does this regularly anyway. Larry needs more surgery because of too much radiation and he is waiting to hear about his leg. He has done an interview with Faces of Richmond (thanks Susan). His sister Jan’s son owns a gravel pit and he was near equipment that ripped off his arm. Flew him to hospital where they could put part of the arm back but not all of it. His nephew is still in surgery. His staff has bought so much pink they are going to look like the Pepto Bismol table.
Debbie M. remembers when a realtor said to the client on the phone that she sent a fax but was not sure if it went through because the paper was still there. Thankyou to everyone in the auction committee.
Melinda (who doesn’t drink) was touting tequila on Cinco de mayo. At the district conference the minimum average age was around 70 and the entertainment was a drag queen show which was fabulous. One of the attendees wondered about the hair on one of the performer's belly. Tuesday the kids at Gilmore were amazing and Chris B makes a mean pancake taco.
