Bobby announced that we raised approximately $140,000 gross receipts and $25,000 for the ask for a total of $165,000 gross. We raised $92,000 net plus the ask.

Thankyou Gordon for taking the notes from our breakfast meeting this week.
We need at least one additional member to attend the District Grants in order to apply for grants next year. But the more the merrier - it’s a good description of how we go about arranging District (NOT Global) Grants. Highly recommended for anyone looking at potential projects.
Melinda expressed her thanks for all the work achieved by the Pinks at the auction. She will be away next week, so Sandra will officiate. She will, however, leave the Auction cheque book behind!
A plethora of birthdays/anniversaries are happening – so several members’ households will be Party Central over the next few (or several?) weeks.
Our illustrious President’s Dinner will be held on 21st June at the Steveston Seafood House – not to be missed!
Congratulations were extended to Debbie Tablotney on her surprise award at the Pathways event. Many members attended and all mentioned what a great evening it was, so we were well represented!
sergeant At Arms Tidbits
Our SAA this week was Garth, who spoke about Cor Leoni’s initiative with school choirs attending their rehearsals. They do this every year – the only organization to offer such an experience in North America!
Bobby mentioned there was not much recognition of our club at the Pathways event - however, it appears that this was a fundraiser and a recognition event will be held separately in the near future. [Can I remind members attending such events to please wear their Rotary Pin - let’s be recognised!!]
Elena has been up to 7th Heaven!! But she came (or was she sent??) back to us - thankfully!!
Peachy spent a very happy Mothers day, and Jeanette even happier one as she has now dispensed with her boot!!
Several members expressed sadness at the loss of friends – Peter, Pat – but also celebrated longevity of others - like Peter’s 110 year old bridge friend.
Peter recalls being offered a 1 acre plot in Whistler many years ago for a steal of a price. He sold it very soon afterwards – it was either keep it or afford a family. Family won!! He’s off to the cabin next week.
Kal met up with previous members the Kallners, the Benoits, and Suss’sss. He also thanked all the purveyors who supplied our breakfast this morning – pancakes, bacon, fruit, maple syrup……..scrumptious!! OOHH this could become a habit Judy, Debbie M and Bob!!
We were graced with a flame red Mustang ragtop in the car park this morning – courtesy Dalbir, who also paid the club the usual $5 per new tire - $20. This a nostalgic rule that we’d all forgotten about (Bob S now owes us BIG!!)
Mothers Day – everyone expressed their delight in celebrating Mother’s day – from family gatherings to Greek food, to receiving a Care Package, to paddling in a regatta, to beach picnics, to dinner at Maxim’s (and witnessing a nasty road accident outside).
The two winners, however, were:
Melinda realising she now has a 40 year old child, to her surprise and dismay, and
Margaret’s Ben congratulated her on Mother’s day with “…so I suppose that means I have to go to church with you today!!”
All in all, another great Fellowship meeting with lots of laughs, memories of days past and excitement at days still to come!
