Mr. Moe Leghari was inducted into Rotary by Drew Antrobus.  The international family of rotary, now one more than 1.4 million strong, offers us the permanence of fellowship.  Although we may be experiencing a change in language, food, people or culture, we will always be welcome at a Rotary meeting, which is becoming more relevant in a changing environment.  There are so many ways you can become involved, enjoy your club and find your passion.  Moe agreed to abide by the constitution and bylaws and was welcomed as the newest Rotarian in the world.  Thanks to Jeannette for the new member. Moe thanks us for allowing him to become a member of this extended family.  Micheal Ghirra will be Moe’s mentor. đź¤Ł

Laurence kids were in summer camps last week, hence his absence.  He was in Terrace which is a two day drive. He drove to Stuart looking for wildlife and was told they would find the river with fish and bears. The river is in Hyder Alaska, and they did not have their passports. So they saw no wildlife but had a good time. Sshh apparently you don’t need a passport to get into Hyder.

Susan lived in Terrace but never got to Hyder. The second biggest day at Costco is back to school day and the busiest is the last Saturday before Christmas. The difference is everyone is super happy just before Christmas.

Debbie T. rode the Tour de Cure and it was a tough slog through the pouring rain on the first day and it never cleared up. She was just soaked. She had to camp because her usually stop with friends who were away. She was dead tired and no problem sleeping. Got up at 5 am watching the mist over the fields and everyone is moving but slowly and looked like the walking dead. The next day was fine and made it all the way but one hill. Getting ready to go to Japan for three weeks. The tour has raised, 7.3 million, the Brainiacs raised $280,000 and is the largest team. They have raised over $5 million in total over the years.

Danny woke up early and left the house at 530 but there was a big accident on Alex Fraser but he still made a photo finish to arrive at 7. After he had been shopping there was a guy standing beside his car and trying to open it. Turned out there was the exact same car three stalls away. An app on his phone told Danny someone Has a surveillance camera and argued whose car it was and three cars away there was the same car. App on his phone told him someone was trying to get into his car.

Michael busy with work which is winding down. He had been in Whistler for two nights. He was not hear last week as he was in Fresno for his Dad’s best friends funeral. It was getting colder there and the Californians were putting on their jackets although it was still warm to him. Kids are now back in school.

Elena had a Filipina guest with a tourist visa for three months. She had been staying in this BNB for $100 and but was running out of money. So when Chewy talked about Hyder, Alaska I immediately remembered hearing about getting Hyderized which, in addition to having to down a high alcohol drink, a severed toe was dropped into the drink before downing. If this was ever true it is apparently not anymore. Here is the on line description of getting Hyderized now.

Hyder, Alaska, is renowned for its stunning landscapes, including the majestic Salmon Glacier and the Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site. One of its most charming spots is the Glacier Inn, a popular destination for tourists. But if you’re looking for something even more intriguing about this town, Hyder has a unique tradition that might catch your attention. Just a short distance from our Ripley Creek Inn lodge in Stewart, BC—a place where the definition of rugged meets the reality of the lawless and where magic seems tangible—lies this small U.S. border town. Hyder is famous locally for its 150-proof Everclear alcohol.
In this remote Alaskan town, there’s a local tradition known as “getting Hyderized” at the Glacier Inn. Tourists and locals alike flock to see the bears and take part in this challenge. If you’re up for it, ask the bartender for a shot of 150-proof Everclear. Those who successfully complete this challenge earn a rare certificate.
So I asked Bing Copilot if getting Hyderized ever included a severed toe and this is the response.

The tradition you’re thinking of with the severed toe is actually from the Sourtoe Cocktail in Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. This unique drink involves a preserved human toe being dropped into a shot of alcohol, and the drinker must let the toe touch their lips to complete the challenge.
The “Hyderized” tradition in Hyder, Alaska, does not involve a severed toe—just a very strong shot of Everclear!

Michelle Sinclair is a certified hypnosis instructor and therapist and has an on line presence as The Real Healing Institute-Michelle Sinclair and The Real Healing Institute - YouTube
She has us do an exercise where we stood up held up our right arm with our thumbs up and twist around as far as we could and put an imaginary red dot on an imaginary wall. Turn back around with our arm down, close our eyes and imagine the dot. We then put out or our arm again with thumbs up and twist as far as we could, and we all twisted further then we could the first time. Michelle explained that our body was responding to our internal dialogue limiting our range of motion that was no longer limited after imaging the red dot. For all the golfers, when you hold the club and it feels good you need to anchor that feeling and you are likely to have a good shot but not if you just get up and hit the ball anyway. She explained that thoughts are stored inside your body. Thinking about something sad will affect your body. If you have a lot of good thoughts, then your body feels good. If you have resentment, you will not feel as good. Resentful thought being stored in your body creates an unhealthy state of being. Hypnotherapy puts the patient in the Beta state to bring up their issues caused by a past traumatic incident. Hypnotherapy brings up this feeling in your body that is used to heal this issue. For example, maybe at 4 or younger you were punished, or an incident happened, and you don’t feel as good. This feeling stays in your body, but you don’t remember it. During therapy you follow these feelings back to heal. Sometimes even back to the womb. These issues could never come out through talking but can be when in the Beta state. Almost everyone says they feel so much lighter because they are not carrying that physical ailment any more. If there is resentment manifested in your body and energy is depleted in that part of your body. Michelle worked with a man three times who had suffered 15 years of pain and was frustrated with work and the pain in his body. She spoke the divine words over him while in the Beta state and he let his resentment go and the pain disappeared. If you are interested the book The Secret Language of Your Body to look up the emotional cause behind your symptoms or medical condition and help your body to heal the condition.
