This is the weekly bulletin for
The Richmond
Sunrise Rotary Club
for May 21, 2019

Last weeks meeting

Susan Introduced our speaker Tom Morley. Tom is a teacher-librarian at Palmer Secondary school. He was a member of the 2019 Rotary Vocational Training Team that visited Kenya in March. He told us about the project and some of the challenges faced by the education system in Kenya. A returning group are coming to Canada later this year. Tom said that they are trying to figure out a way to give them the kind of enthusiastic welcome that our team received upon their arrival in Kenya! The program was funded with a Global grant from the Rotary Foundation. The Grant was supported by District 9212 Kenya and District 5040 BC as well as 24 Rotary clubs (including Richmond Sunrise) from our District 5040. Gordon thanked Tom for his presentation.
