Yes it's true we raised a record gross amount at the Gala this year. Final figures will be out at this Thursday's meeting from Bobby. Unofficially we raised over $160,000 gross. Congratulations to you all and especially our fearless leader Debbie M.
SERGEANT At Arms Tidbits
After a few reminders about process, we went straight to work checking items off against the master list and placing them on the ballroom tables. The organization was exemplary (thanks Eleanore) and we finished the bulk of the items by about 9:30 a.m.! Thanks to everyone who helped out!

A quick glance at Ken Doraty's career stats will show you nothing remarkable from the journeyman winger. He only scored 15 goals in his NHL career, but three of them will keep "Cagie" Ken in the hockey record books forever.
Before there was a sudden death overtime in the NHL teams would play a 10-minute overtime period at the conclusion of a regulation tie. Doraty and his Toronto Maple Leafs found themselves in this situation in 1934 against the Ottawa Senators. Tied 4-4 heading into the overtime session, Doraty channeled his inner sniper, scoring the only hat-trick in NHL overtime history, leading the Leafs to a 7-4 victory.
With the changes in the overtime rules, Doraty will remain in the NHL record books forever.
Dalbir, Chris P. and Susan were at the district conference in Terrace last weekend and were impressed with the First Nations connections and support from Rotary. They were privileged to visit the First Nations site, driving along the river through the territory, to Nass Valley, saw the totem there from Kwantlen, marvelled at the spectacular museum spectacular, and were impressed with the closing ceremonies. Shirley Pat , from the Nisga'a Nation, a two-hour drive from Terrace was there as well. They spent the weekend in the company of Steven Point, whose closing speech was poignant, with reminders that we are all good people and a reminder of the good that Rotary does in the world. The overall theme was paddling and how we are all paddling together. Dalbir an Susan received certificates of graduation from the Peace facilitation course.
