Carolyn’s granddaughters are making dinner every Wednesday. I did not hear it what it was but it sounded like “hot ducks”! Quack! 🦆
Annette our guest and a past Rotary President is working to encourage Rotarians to hire those with disabilities.
Debbie T. had a wonderful time in Maui including waterfalls and turtles. She is preparing for April 14th when the drug overdose crises was declared. She will be hanging purple ribbons to paint Richmond Purple for overdose victims.
Bob had his third week at the temple. He has a friend who booked several rooms in Hawaii on the web site redweek.com and was only paying $5,900. It is a web site that rents time shares that owners are not using.
Joyce went to waterfalls in LA because of three atmospheric rivers that dosed them with 6 inches of rain.
Chris M. reported that Max is very tired after being at RYLA for 4 days with 80 other kids where he also received a black eye from an errant frisbee. Chris enjoyed Horseshoe Bay village as well as making a long putt that apparently was a result of playing with golfers that are better than her. (wished that worked for me.)
Sandra likes looking at flowers and pine cones while walking not playing golf. She has employed someone from Aspire who was awesome.
Sam and Bill won the MVP for their hockey LGBTQ team last game. Bill used to dismiss the award but now that he won we are likely to hear about it next week. Sam will be at the Canucks pride game.
Marg attended two funerals of friends. She saw Sense and Sensibility which was excellent. Although her neighbour thought it was boring.
Peter was hacked on face book with a message from previously unknown relatives from Norway who reached out along with another part of family in Alberta. There are Leveltons everywhere – just spelled differently.
Kal attended a fund raiser for ALS because of a friend who died and the event raised $10,000. Had lunch with Mark Philips and Lawrence Bourke both ex members. Also had lunch with Melinda and Gordon who are members.
Debbie M. is back to practicing in the dragon boats including with the stronger team and she was able to keep up. She is not even sore.
Judy jumped up like Sam and then moved like Jagger. She had a couple nice days at Birch Bay. Will be with the whole family for easter weekend.
Chris B. had only three days of sun and 65 degrees in California. Was too cold for Californians. Arrived home and Malcolm left for Victoria and points beyond.
Gordon achieved his 79th and this morning was feeling everyone of those years but happy to be able to drive to our meeting in the light now.
Pat’s daughter took her 15 year old granddaughter to see Taylor Swift in Las Vegas. After bowling she went for lunch at O”Hares pub. Peter was there when they arrived and was still there when they left. (With newly discovered relatives from Norway perhaps🍻
Jeanette said that Peachy thanked us for the card and her cast has been removed and hopes to join us on May 5th. Jeanette is off to Vegas to join Elena. (no Taylor Swift??).
Garth is inheriting all litigation files from his now ex partner who is going to work at the Law Society. (boy you think you could pick your law partners if not your relatives.) He needs to hire a paralegal. More importantly he can golf with a cane.
Amanda was sick last week for three days. She has found a face book food share page called “food share with love” you post extra food on face book and people will find you and pick up the extra food.
Debbie S. reminded us to bring her the gift certificates after entering them in the auction site. She did go to pack up Mom’s stuff and had some good laughs. She and sisters would donate their used clothes through her mom and it turned out that mom had kept some of the clothes she wanted to wear. They found a spot for a memorial bench and will use words from a poem from Chief Dan George from his book “And My Heart Soars”.
I thanked the Ghirras for letting Sandy and I have a wonderful time in Whistler and use their condo.
Bobby was in Toronto where he enjoyed good restaurants and a Raptors game where he felt packed in like a sardine in the nose bleed seats that were only $135.00.
Mary Lou is heading to the cabin with Oscar and his parents. Spent a great evening with Sean listening to Gabor Mate who was positive and inspirational.
Melinda’s toe is broken and wrapped and the MRI showed her shoulder is a mess. John has bursitis so they have started swimming exercises and five minute walks? During spring break they had Rory and Melinda let a bad word slip out. Repeated by Rory on rewind and of course Willow repeats everything too.🤬
