Blair has been working a lot. Apparently declined the opportunity to have Kal as a Mentor. Hun? Can’t imagine. Is looking forward to belonging to the club.
Peachy had an emotional week because of the death of a client they had looked after for more than a year. Also had a friend who has had a stroke but is recovering.
Danny stayed at home and watched three movies. Did not catch the first one but American Sniper and Avatar. Going climbing this weekend at Brandywine Falls and a nearby lake.
Michael had a great family day at Cultus Lake water park and his little kids went on the water slides. Weather not great but Monday was nice for one minute and everyone was out - but not for more than a minute.
Bob did the sea to sky hike which is a climb of 912 meters and took four hours. It is like doing the Grouse Grind three times. Was also on the island on the weekend to Bear Mountain. Went to Sandra sister’s restaurant and saw? Mike McCardle. Also went to the first Sikh Temple built in BC. Bob is growing to be more like his Mom, (no he is not going to start wearing a Sari) but going to fruit stands to check out the price of onions.🧅
Sam got a new tattoo. Last week he took a cognitive therapy training course which included practice sessions and it felt like his soul went through a car wash. If you want kids to take your course at camp call it a dungeons and dragons camp for kids. Not social problem solving as no one will sign up. The new tattoo is a friendship tattoo of a purple giraffe.🦒(imagine purple)
Bill will show his tattoo later. The Rotary Bell was stuffed with a cloth, hence the muffled clang. Had lunch with Chris P. (miss seeing you) who is doing well after an accident and Don is getting better. Brian Kirkham had heart surgery on two valves after updating his will. (Jaffe Benefit Foundation now a beneficiary?🎅🏼).
Kal welcomed Blair in spite of the slam. He said a Sari would look good on Bob.
Peter was in the Tulameen for a good week where every knows everyone and waves at everyone. Good news when stopped in Aldergrove for gas and paid 1.88. But while he was filling up the pump went blank and stopped. When it came back on he was paying 182.6. Talk about a magic pump.
Marg had a busy week attending four funerals and dinner with friends that are still alive. Had dinner downtown and saw lineups of two blocks to get into a night club. There was also a road block for the Knight Street bridge. Don slid over to the driver seat.
Judy left her phone at home and felt naked. Good thing she was with about 20 or so good friends. Went out for couple dinners and lunches. Spent time with grand kids. Will be driving to Penticton on her own uncomfortably but safely to be with Spencer’s family and have fun with the grand kids.
Chris B. did not send me what she said by email so I am just leaving my notes taken during her interlude. “interesting coming home from somewhere had 135 to fill tank never been that before. Huh. Take the bus. 8 hours a day for two weeks saw the eyes going down team building buying krispy kreme. Representing Richmond in the provincial donut championship in Manitoba”
Dalbir’s Corvette costs more than that to fill. (I assumed that is more than $135) Dalbir attended a concert that was a tribute to Adele with two violins and violas and 700 candles. Dalbir spoke quite quietly Thursday but said something about drinking three young men under the table.
Gordon said he and Garth decided to start oh Canada with a note that the rest of us could follow that in the past led to one of the best choral events but sadly off key and the strategy did not work today. Hence the discussion about singing Happy Birthday instead.
Chris Offer told us that he bought two tickets for “Come from Away” for $300 plus an administration fee a booking fee and an on line paying fee. Ain’t on line purchasing great!
Dick said it was nice to see Chris O. When Barb came home from golf this week she said she had met Rotarians at the course (they may have been practicing singing O’Canada). The weather report from Saskatchewan is for tornadoes, heavy rain and hail storms. Hence the inspirational quote this week.
Belinda has been very busy with grand kids who were currently asleep upstairs. She has been working with her Parish church which is starting a community meal in September. She and the team are very motivated to start up the program and are gaining a lot of support and excitement.
Amanda slept in last week but joined us this week to report that she ended up 6th overall in the hair styling competition. Congratulations. She is really happy with the result and I believe she said there will be some kind of recognition from the “Born that way Foundation". 
She is otherwise busy with work and enjoying lots of sunshine.
Judy had a postscript and reported that she had volunteered for the first time at St Albans meal program. Although there was a sketchy guy down the alley, her vehicle was loaded up. She drove to St. Albans and everything worked out well and she dealt with really nice people. Good on you!
Sandra thanked Sam for the breakfast. She and Brian are leaving Saturday for South Africa. Maddie Pugh is house sitting with Don and Marg as emergency back up. She will be flying 21 hours. Then to Cape Town on the 24th for a significant birthday celebration at a famous winery started by Napoleon. Followed by a drive down to the southern most tip of Africa for diving with the sharks. Finally a safari at Kruger National Park and home in the middle of August.
Debbie S. says in the Netherlands the progressive government is telling large animal production farmers that they need to stop farming because they are the biggest methane producers. The government will be compensating them in euros to stop farming and to produce more fruits and vegetables and housing. Not surprisingly the farmers do not want to give up the farming way of life. There are protests and road blocks. Next week going to Tofino with John and Dad to visit daughter Nikki.
Garth's house guests have gone to Vancouver Island for a few days. Took 5 to see Thor and tickets were $100 and $50 for popcorn. Also saw Minions. Just changed theatres before they left! JK!
I, as intrepid bulletin editor, reported a news item that a realtor showing a home was video taped taking a milk carton out of the open house fridge and drinking directly from the milk carton. The realtor has been suspended. Possibly why Debbie M. was not at our meeting Thursday??? JK
Bobby’s son Ethan fell and suffered an Achilles tendon tear and will be on crutches for 3 months and then rehab for six months. Bobby showed his seamstress skills by altering a brides maid dress that was too tight with a construction strap that did the trick.
Melinda thanked Bill and Sam for breakfast. John’s daughter had a catastrophic break, leading to surgeries and she cannot walk. John’s surgery for melanoma was delayed as need for further assessment with dye injection. He will require eyelid reconstructive surgery. They are leaving today for Penticton and visiting friends in Osoyoos. Although looking forward to getting away it will be hot and has not shared the same condo with the kids before.
