Zoom Meeting Rules

1) Mute your microphone if you aren't already muted. Background noise is distracting.
2) If you are not engaged in the presentation, turn off your camera.
3) Chat function should only be used to address the speaker, not for Club member remarks during the presentation

4) Unmute when harassing the Sergeant at Arms or taking your turn during Sergeant at Arms.

5)Get a Canadian Flag Tattoo.

Oh and we had the trifecta for Oh Canada, Garth, Gordon and Elena.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND

CLUB BUSINESS

Carolyn Robertson and Moe Leghari have resigned. Not because of Debbie.

Susan garble garble passing around sheets to join the committees and supposed to join at least two committees.

Elena and something about a new car paying a fine for each tire - unless it's a used Studebaker.

Every third Thursday will be a projects meeting after the breakfast meeting. Michael will send out the applications the week before.

Debbie and others attended the Rotoract installation and met some people from the UK.

Great news – a new clubrunner is coming - who can hardly wait.

Thanks to all for the food this morning.

Speaker

Danny's great Video about the Rotary International Convention in Calgary. Debbie added how overwhelming it was. Amazing speakers and how everyone was there to give service and friendship. Told us about Geena Davis talking about strong women figures in the cartoons and movies. Another speaker who warned Canadians about avoiding what was happening in the US. and other good speakers. Clubs from other countries showing their projects. Great volunteers and wonderful facilities and the friendship area. Canada showcased itself to the world. Debbie summarized some of the presentations and booths that she visited. Also informed us about some of the projects she was interested in that may interest the club. Danny mentioned a project about child trafficking. Elena mentioned there were so many activities and difficult to manage their time.

SERGEANT At Arms Tidbits

Mary Lou left the meeting early but drove 1500 miles with her car club after coming back from Toronto with Dalbir. She has been working at the cabin.

John who is on his way to the Calgary Stampede called in from Golden. Missed saying his ode to Peter last week but as follows:

Who made our Rotary meetings much sweeter

He was not very loud

But he made us proud

If he is president again

Gordon talked about the international conventions he has attended but seemed to remember the one Dolly Parton spoke at the most. (Hmmm.) He said the conventions make you proud to be a Rotarian.

Dalbir retired four years ago. (He said something else too. Hopefully those who were there remember.)

Peter talked about the device that vacuums the lint out of his belly button.

Marg went to the Steveston parade and enjoyed the garbage trucks. Off to Newfoundland.

Sandra is now officially a grandma as proclaimed by Miller.

Sam has a good intern student.

Kal spoke about his trip to France but it was all in French or possibly Punjabi - it was hard to tell over the owl.

Chris M. was happy to no longer having to take notes.

Maryam was happy school was out for summer.

Bobby was happy the Rotary invoices were out.

Garth was happy he was out golfing.

Judy was happy she was out shopping.

Melinda was happy she was out with her grand kids.

Blair was happily passed out.

Bill was so happy he left the meeting early.

Brian was happy someone went on a second date.

Michael was happy he has permanently been allocated 15 minutes during Sergeant at Arms.

Peachy was happy she could help all her clients.

Debbie Murphy was happily paddling.

Susan was happy being way too nice for the rest of us - or at leas some of us.

Jeannette was happy helping people in the hospital to get better.

Danny was happy to get a tattoo instead of going for a hike! NOT!

Everyone not mentioned specifically is happy about that.

Hope everyone has many happy moments until next week.
