Blair will soon pay his dues. He was in Castlegar after adventurous flights with prayers and bumps. He needed a morning flight in order to see a playoff game, but WestJet sent him an email, for a flight at 3:30 p.m. Air Canada had a flight for 9 a.m., he booked, and paid $700 for a one-way ticket. He went back to WestJet for his refund, but they wanted to give him credit for trips, but in the end, he got all his money refunded. There was more to the story, and this is the abridged version.
Joyce is transitioning back from her Trinidad trip and is getting back on her horse.
Carolyn has preschool germs. She is looking forward to spring and nice weather. Thanks to Parm, whom she sees at Richmond Chamber of Commerce events, where he is always supportive.
Chris M. is nesting. Her favourite part of the day is the evening, when Olivia hands the baby to her and Rod so that both parents can get a two-hour nap before starting their rotations for the night. With Rod, they are taking turns on who gets to hold her. The dog is at their feet, the cat is hovering nearby, still unsure of that new baby. They’re almost finished two seasons of the Lincoln Lawyer. They’re living in a precious bubble.
Mary Lou takes lessons about birthdays from Judy so is having a birthday month. She had a great dinner with Sean, and lunch at Ember with RWRC. She is heading on a red eye to Boston to spend 10 days with Lindsey. Her company was nominated for a Women’s Distinction Award so she will grab lunch and Alan and head to the airport afterwards.
Larry gave money for his not so new anymore car. He’s having a quiet day off.
Melinda thanks Parm. She is heading to Palm Springs next week to watch tennis with Marg and Pat.
Sandra says that Miller is in Children’s Hospital, as he is not gaining enough weight and has to be watched.
Sam is back from Hawaii, but had a bad sleep so is on Zoom. They got new tattoos and had a helicopter ride without dad.
Chris B. is leaving tomorrow for Long Beach and will be back on the 19th then down again on the 29th, watching her grandson in two swim meets.
Peter bought a new car, white just like the other, and tried to sneak it through. But Kal spilled the beans. He had issues with the dishwasher, then the washing machine and now the shower control is vibrating. His plumbers are getting wealthy.
Marg says Thursday night was the worst hockey game - 5 to1 loss to LA. Don was bike riding with friends but had to bring the van to load the bike and his friend who fell. However, she fell in front of another friend’s house, so they were able to have a visit. It was a 7 hour wait at emergency in Richmond hospital. So, they drove to Mt. St. Joseph’s hospital, where they x-rayed her arm and put on a cast immediately. Don had checked online for availability in emergencies. Yesterday Marg saw Father Tartuffe at Granville Island, with 342 high school kids - terrible casting, the worst acting and a bad story. She is off to Palm Springs to watch tennis, hoping the weather will improve there.
Judy can’t believe her oldest son just turned 48. She took him shopping and had a lovely lunch at Bacchus downtown and was happy he listened to her advice about how to dress. She was at the IWD Women’s Resource Centre lunch at Ember. She is having an Academy Awards dinner with the family on Sunday.
Debbie M. says work is getting busy. She also had lunch at Ember for the Women’s Resource Centre. She is going with Sania to the USA for shopping.
Kal says John M. called from the cottage, and is going to Maui for two weeks, but will continue to do the bulletin. Did we hear that Lavina sold her car to Dalbir, and bought a new one – a Porsche Macan?
Bill is back from Hawaii and will do the greeting in May.
Chris P. says it’s great to have Parm here, and although she recognizes it’s a scary time, she doesn’t like the big building going next to her back yard. Thanks to everyone for volunteering to be the greeter, as she is so happy to have someone else out there welcoming guests.
Debbie S. gave belated money for her new car. Thanks to Parm as he always shows up at the RASS AGM every year. Did we know that if you travel with a Nexus pass, you can take someone over 75 even if they don’t have one? She took her dad through, and was asked if he is over 75, (and he’s almost 90) and they kept saying he doesn’t look it!
Micheal thanks Parm. He was in Whistler last week and was joined by all 5 family members They stayed in, barbecued, and enjoyed the pool.
Amanda loves this club and the amount of support she receives, including going out for lunch with Chris and Debbie offering help with the gala next year. Her cousin has a 5-year-old who was just diagnosed with a soft tissue cancer and is starting chemotherapy.
Debbie T. was interested to hear Parm’s journey. She recognizes the housing initiatives, but there will be some fallout for the school district as they will be over-populated, especially in city centre. Curtis’ dream car is finished and it’s beautiful. They are looking for events in which to enter the car. Let Debbie know if you hear of anything. They will do the Pride Parade and the Steveston Parade and will park outside during the Gala. She is going to Mexico for two weeks.
Bobby got bumped from Whistler by his older brother. He was in Whistler in November and broke his HH jacket zipper, which had a lifetime guarantee. Helly Hansen gave him a $375 credit (for the $100 jacket), no receipt needed.
Bob wonders how many new cars were mentioned today – 5? His own lease is up, so he’s driving his mom’s Honda Civic and is looking for a new car next week.
