Debbie M. as her act of kindness gave out 15 Tim Horton gift cards. She also got her first covid shot and Kal offered to drive! How sweet!

Kal's ankle is now 80% and he watched Dave Hamilton's service

Bill drove out to Chilliwack because - well who wouldn't? Or maybe it was Kal who offered to drive Debbie there? Carries change around in his pocket to give to those asking for money on the street. Eijah the friend of the pious, watches for Bill's generosity.

Sandra thanked Don Dixon for the lawn edger and lawn roller. She is thankful for her health.

Christine M. lives in a world of kindness at school. She is helping a child in French immersion in the evenings one on one. She was interviewed by her Kindergarteners using a rabbit puppet. Christine feels like she is in her 30's. We all should have retired at 30.

Kathy was waiting for ever in the drive through at Timmie's and her act of kindness was turning her frown upside down.

Marg claims she had performed no acts of kindness. Don replaced her license plate and can't read my notes.

Dalbir is at work and currently in personal tax hell. Dalbir's license plates were stolen and then recovered by the police. His act of kindness was he has agreed to testify.

Judy had paid for the Starbucks behind her. Went to Van Dusen Gardens met Mary Lou, Alan and Oscar and then while having coffee in Steveston saw Sandra riding by. Claims she is entitled to make ups.

Peter's random act of kindness is providing Mallard ducks with nesting sites in his green houses. 8 - 10 ducklings in the hatching usually for the fourth year. No swans yet!

Dick watched his brother's service in the morning and Dave Hamilton's in the afternoon. On weekends in the past he would phone his brother and this time phoned his sister in law for a warm conversation. Keep the family connection.

Brian is buying a speedo and will have pictures posted next week. I sure hope not. Is once again President of his curling club who was described by one failed candidate as "A bunch of idiots" on a hot mic. Ooops. Brian president of a bunch of idiots? He has done that before!

I am thankful for the reaction to the bulletin but it's foundation is based on all the work of those who came before. I am just trying to make everyone gruntled. I could have been Mom's favourite if it wasn't for my two sisters and a brother.

Gordon has no covers on his windows while being replaced but claims that the CRA put his rebate directly into his bank account! rebate rebate πŸΈ

Joyce was the recipient of two tickets to the Van Gogh exhibit as a friends act of kindness which she enjoyed immensely.

Danny was sitting under a halo and told us how he had gone for a hike. He came across another hiker with a sprained ankle. Danny treated him with a splint and acupuncture then helped him back to the parking lot. Now we know why he has a halo.

Bob was back disguised as iPad Iqbal(2) and said he had been watching guys gardening - his spring past time. Also allowed people to stay in his unit as an act of kindness.

Larry arranged for the live streaming of the Dave Hamilton service. Also set up 12 viewings of 10 people per viewing over three days for a deceased Costco employee.

Bobby delivered a pain ointment to his mom and five of her friends from their fish packing days. Had a great conversation with the friends who are all looking for someone to talk to during these times.

Sam's act of kindness was injuring people for free in front of Danny so he could come to the rescue. Now has patio furniture thanks to Jake. Will still celebrate pantsaversary but Justin approved.

Pat also watched Dave Hamilton's service and enjoyed the musician. She had a visit with grandchildren. Her daughter brought her some plants. She received her ICBC refund and bought a friend's book.

Chris B. was so impressed with Judy's botany skills on their visit to Van Dusen Gardens. (I just read from the little signs next to the plants.) Met an ex student of Judy's who said that Mrs. May was his favourite teacher. Don and Marg babysit Sophie and Chris bought coffee for the window washer.

Micheal planted his flower beds and trimmed the neighbour's 25 foot pine tree with a chain saw. Neighbour was grateful. Tree was not. Had his Pfizer shot. Has been watching who killed Sarah and now the serpent serial killer. Micheal really needs this pandemic to end. Who's next one might ask????😲

Melinda had her license plate stolen and it had been replaced by another license plate. Her act of kindness was to baby sit Willow to give Heath a break. It was not random though.

Debbie T. was tired from a lengthy School District Budget meeting. Loaned electric lawn mower to neighbour who had just moved from China. Had to replace extension cord as it got in the way of the mower. Planting flowers in the Church garden to attract the birds and the bees. How many learned about the birds and bees at Church?

Ron was attacked by the mute spook but managed to tell us that he was impressed with the RI President elects speech, bought 25 gift certificates for his accounting staff, watched Nomadland and took voltaren for back pain. Garth recommended CPD.

Elena is feeding the squirrels and birds bread and nuts and watches them fight for the food. Better than WWF.  An avian and rodent food fight for breakfast lunch and dinner. Don Dixon has brought her boxes of books.

Garth watched something but his act of kindness was trying to help divorced parents do what is best for their kids.

Debbie S. has had a tough week. Friend's daughter diagnosed with cancer but is doing well after treatment. Aunt made a necklace to bring a positive spirit for her niece for all to wear. Another friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer that is not good. Did have a picnic at Van Dusen.

Meanderings

Maintaining a non Eurocentric mini trend and celebrating the end of Sikh Heritage month, I wonder how many of you know what a nagar kirtan  is? Five? Okay so I did not. So GTS!

Nagar Kirtan, in Sikhism, is customary in the festival of Vaisakhi. Traditionally, the procession is led by the saffron-robed Panj Piare (the five beloved of the Guru), who are followed by the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy Sikh scripture, which is placed on a float.

Commonly, members of the procession are unshod in deference to the displayed scripture. Likewise, many cover their heads and don the colour saffron or orange. The road before the procession is cleared by Sewadars(volunteer to the Guredwara and/or Sikh community). Bystanders bow their heads to the scripture. Food may be provided to them from floats that follow the Scripture or from stationary points near the vicinity of the procession. The procession concludes at the Gurudwara with Ardas (prayer).

I bet no more of you knew what the Panj Piare is? Okay so wikipaedia is going to tell you.

Panj Pyare  the five beloved ones, is the collective name given to five Sikh men βˆ’ Bhai Daya Singh, Bhai Dharam Singh, Bhai Himmat Singh, Bhai Mohkam Singh, and Bhai Sahib Singh βˆ’ by Guru Gobind Singh during the historic and monumental divan at Anandpur Sahib on March 30, 1699.(Gregorian calendar skipped 11 days in 1752. So, in present times Vaisakhi occurs near 13 April every year).

They formed the nucleus of the Khalsa: the first five persons to receive Khanda di Pahul initiation and rites (baptism) of the two-edged sword.

In Sikh theology, as in the Indian classical tradition generally, panj, the number five in Punjabi, has a special significance. Guru Nanak in Japji Sahib refers to five khands, i.e. stages or steps in spiritual development, and calls a spiritually awakened person a panch. The ancient Indian socio-political institution panchayat meant a council of five elders. Something like an inner council of five existed even in the time of earlier Gurus.

I threw a boomerang a few years ago. Now I live in constant fear.

Believe it or not there are even Earth Day Jokes! Try these on your grandchildren.

How can you tell the ocean is friendly? β€” It waves.

What did the tree wear to the pool party? β€” Swimming trunks.

Why did the woman go outdoors with her purse open? β€” Because she expected some change in the weather.

My goal is to become the oldest person on Earth. I know it sounds like a long shot, but I'm making progress every day. Just now I achieved a new personal best!
