Micheal is back from India after 3 ½ weeks, enjoyed being waited on in hotels, with breakfasts. He left his daughter and little one there for 3 more weeks. Back now, he is swamped with work and will share more stories in the future. (we can hardly wait.)
Debbie T. returned from Africa two days ago, after a life-changing trip, for a month, Capetown, two different safaris, a cruise across the Atlantic, (they only got off once, as the two other stops were hindered by weather). Highlights included kayaking with a massive number of seals, seeing a group of wild dogs with a standoff against other animals, such as hyenas and jackals. She was amazed by the power of animals working together to chase off the dogs. Her luggage wasn’t there when on safari, but she eventually got it. Her husband thought his camera was better, so he was taking photos, but then jumped into pool with his phone. (Oh Drew!) Hopefully he hasn’t lost the photos.
Sandra remembers seeing the wild dogs when she was in Africa. She also remembers working in Children’s Hospital in the 1980s, amazed by how all staff takes on the patients and families as their own. She recently went back with grandson Miller, and knew where she was going, but was disappointed in the oldness of the old area. She shared greetings from Melinda who is halfway through her trip, on beaches that are amazing, and looking so relaxed. Sandra is off tomorrow to Mexico for a few weeks.
Mary Lou had dinner with the outlaws, Oscar’s other grandparents. She started Aquafit at the YMCA. Today is Oscar day, who wants to go tubing on his birthday in two weeks - maybe they need a Plan B. She is sad about Super Grocer.
Debbie S.. says Nicole has found her missing $1000, but the answer is disappointing as she had paid the bill to Collabria, the amount wasn’t deducted from her account until January, when there wasn’t enough money to cover it. Darn! She warns John about a recall on the charger associated with the new Audi (John bought one, too).
Joyce has had issues with her emails over last 6 months and contacts were going into junk, so if you’re not on the list for S@A or Inspirational Quote, your email might have gone to her junk mail. She went to Bruno for Dine Out, a most amazing meal. She’s on countdown for Trinidad.
Pat had a terrible cold, then got an email from her sister saying how sick she is, too, so they might have the same thing. Her bowling team is in 4th place, out of 12 teams! 
This morning, she is going to a TALK program, then for Tea and Trumpets this afternoon.
Kal had his surgery a year ago, so must go for blood work regularly, and almost broke his neck getting to Life Labs.(seems ironic). On Tuesday his doctor phoned with bad news …. they didn’t take enough blood. Thanks to Chris B. who took him for the test. He attended an amazing funeral, part Buddhist.
Peter says his granddaughter is being selected and didn’t have to try out for an elite team. She will now plays two games a week and practises three nights a week. It is a real honour, and the coach obviously sees a lot of potential in her.
Marg was at the same funeral as Kal. She read us a nice letter from Max.
I am now back for almost half a year. I can't believe it. I am doing well at my new school in Sonderborg, Denmark, even though I miss Canada sometimes. I met a lot of new classmates and we have a good time together. The school keeps me busy and I'm still playing some football.
I just had my presentation about my exchange in the Rotary Club. They loved hearing all about my experiences and the club.

Chris B. picked up Judy from the airport last night. Chris was at Super Grocer the night of the fire, with Malcolm speaking to the fire chief. Even the firefighters couldn’t go in. Some people were shopping and were able to get out safely. There are lots of rumours going around about the cause, but nothing official yet. The flowers were still outside. Steveston Seafood House will be closed for two months, due to water damage.
Bill had nothing to say except BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Debbie M. is back from Palm Springs, where she had nice family time, with Amalia, who used to call her Gigi, now “Giig”. (Ed. note : “Giig” is Klingon for “Old Crow” – such a gifted child!) Such a blessing. She is still doing dance class every morning, hip hop and salsa combo. (Debbie not Amalia.)
Blair had a 10-minute presentation prepared in honour of Micheal’s return, but will keep it for another time. He was in cold Saskatchewan, down to – 45º, and came back a day early to get out of the cold, with many delays and no luggage. But he is heading back in a week.
Peachy reported that her mom is starting to walk, thanks to the physiotherapy, so is happy. They celebrated her brother’s 50th yesterday.
Jeannette went to the District Grant training last Thursday. She will send paperwork to Debbie S. and Bob.
Garth is back from Palm Springs where he enjoyed the warm 74º. He was a little late this morning as Steveston Highway was one lane only.
Chris M. is very sad about Super Grocer and remembers it being SuperValu Store when she was teaching at Lord Byng Elementary in the early 70s. Super Grocer feels like a new business to her. She hopes they’ll be able to rebuild. We should get together for a big dinner once Steveston Seafood House opens again.
Bobby has had two weeks of water problems, both at home and at the halls, including a pump failed in the basement and halls leaking. 
But he is staying focused and drinking a lot of water. He will be away next week, missing his first rotary meeting this year. Congratulations to Chris M. who was the first to pay her fees this term.
John got his new Audi yesterday, so paid us $10 a wheel. He will be happy when he learns to turn up the volume. But… there is already a recall for the charger which overheats. Super Grocer no longer there means he is back to doing food runs for his sister in the Maples.
Bob sold his business to his partner. It feels good, not having to look after all of it. They started the business at 21 years old, just to be able to buy a car! Now he is focusing on real estate, which used to be just a ‘side hustle’. For the few days after retirement, he’ll be on vacation, going to Whistler this weekend to stay at Bobby’s. Last week, when he was there for an ICSC conference, he was walking with his hands in his pocket, slipped, landed on his elbows and hit his head, but was fine. The next day his partner slipped on the ice and cut open his lip. Apparently about 115 people fell and landed in emergency during those two days, because of the overnight freeze. So, watch the temperature and be extra careful. (Ed. note. hire a lawyer any lawyer.)
